I wish the sky would rain down roses

You love the roses - so do I. I wish
The sky would rain down roses, as they rain
From off the shaken bush. Why will it not?
Then all the valley would be pink and white
And soft to tread on. They would fall as light
As feathers, smelling sweet; and it would be
Like sleeping and like walking, all at once!

George Elliot. Roses.

From May to October, our house and lives are rounded with roses.
Below, the persian love cake (not only goodlooking, also tastes delicious). Recipe  here.

it's a brief time in early spring
and i've made a mental note
to make this next time the petals fall - thank you!
